Tutors

Our team consists of both: experienced tutors and former students. All of us either came up with our method or were trained in house to teach subjects as what they are: forms of communication. We are all trained to not only raise your child’s grade but to also explain how exactly we reason our way through the problems that often seem to confound students at first glance.

The intention behind this is to bring back learning into the classroom. Even if all the issues discussed in the Why School Failed section were ignored, the fact is one teacher for thirty students is not optimal, it is another cost cutting decision that quickly declines the quality of the education the students receive. Tutoring offers the kind of focused attention needed for teaching to be effective. The result is faster learning, better retention, and a healthy interest in learning.

Translation and Proofreading

Despite the marketing nonsense of many companies I cannot legally name the fact is computers cannot now and will never be able to think. If you want an amusing example of what happens when you rely on a bunch of ones and zeros to translate watch this. The reason for this is actually quite obvious: computers do not understand the information they process; they follow a set of instructions. AI that appears to think is actually just following thousands upon thousands of lines of instructions. This was demonstrated decades ago by the Chinese Room thought experiment. While programs that correct spelling, grammar and even check for tone exist and are quite helpful they do not offer explanation or practice regarding why their corrections work nor can they reliably train the fledgling communicator in concise, effective, and unambiguous speech.

This is where we come in. Effective communication allows one to say a lot with very little. Indeed, a skilled writer can paint a quite vivid picture with words alone without making his or her work feel bloated. Translators face an equally difficult challenge. A translator must understand the work being translated intimately, not merely the words, but the full intended meaning. The meaning is then expressed in a new language. The hallmark of a good translation is when the document does not look like it was translated at all but rather written in the translated language to begin with.

Given how intricate the processes of refining speech as well as translating it can be we also offer these services. We will not simply proofread/translate the document but also offer explanations as to why certain choices were made. Our goal is not simply to provide this service. We are an education company, our goal is always for learning to happen, so we limit these to students who need help with their writing style or who are learning a new language.
